Parading outside the Queens – a great lost hotel with a mystery ending

STOCKTON’S quayside was the original terminus of the 1825 railway from Darlington, but it wasn’t until 1852 when the Leeds Northern Railway came through on its way to Billingham that the town got its own fully fledged passenger station.
